Learn the basics of screenprinting while designing and printing your own postcards. Participants will learn how to create a film positive from their drawing, expose a silkscreen properly and print a set of 10 postcards.

Come learn about woodblock carving and printing in this printmaking workshop. There will be demonstrations on each step to help guide you through the process of making your first woodblock print. You will learn how to transfer a drawing, cut, ink, and handprint the block. Students will produce small edition of relief prints.

In this 3 week workshop students will get an in-depth look at all aspects of screenprinting including making films, exposing a screen, registration of layers, mixing ink, and printing an edition. During the first class, students will watch a screenprinting demo and create films from their drawing. The second class will explain the basics of printing and students will be able to practice before starting their first layers. In the last class, the remaining layers will be completed and students will learn how to edition the prints. Students will leave with an edition of 5 multicolor prints.
All supplies included. Some experience in visual art is recommended. This class would be great for artists looking to explore printmaking. Come translate your painting or drawing into a hand-pulled print!
